Introducing Amber Smith, the proud founder of EIE. Driven by her love and desire to leave the world a better place for her children and future generations, Amber embarked on a journey to create a brighter future through education. With an unconventional background in underwater construction and cave conservation, she brings a unique perspective to empower young minds. Drawing from personal experiences, Amber understands the profound impact of early choices, fueling her commitment to equipping children with the tools and knowledge to carve their own destinies. Hoda holds a B.A. in Communication Arts and an MBA in Business Management from the University of Houston. She has experience working with startups, corporations, and small nonprofits. During the five years at PeopleSoft (acquired by Oracle), she witnessed the rapid success of a startup that emphasized a flat hierarchy and a collaborative environment. Hoda was employee #47, and by the time she left, PeopleSoft had grown to 1,200 employees. Following her tenure there, Hoda joined Pacific Bell (later acquired by SBC Communications, which eventually became AT&T) as an IT Technical Director. Invited by a colleague to instill the PeopleSoft culture, she managed Software Requirements Analysts and Project Managers in both California and St. Louis. She later led the Software Process Improvement team during the transition to SBC Communications, which subsequently rebranded to AT&T. Simultaneously, Hoda pursued her passion for cooking by running a successful catering business on weekends for 15 years. After leaving AT&T, she ventured into entrepreneurship by opening a unique creative waffle café in Berkeley. More recently, she managed the donor and volunteer branch of an education nonprofit that funded home-based classrooms and teachers in Afghanistan. Her commitment to transforming education, driven by the challenges her children faced in public school, led her to partner with Evolving In Education (EiE).

Karanbir has participated in and provided learning interventions and solutions to businesses, organizations, and individuals for over two decades. Educated in International Business, Economics, and Finance, his experience has taken him through a very wide spectrum of learning, including a nonprofit, grassroots development project in partnership with an NGO, in Maharashtra, India. He is passionate about taking steps to make our world a better place, if not for us now, then for our kids. He is the founder of Learning Median, a learning consultancy and solution provider, leads a private research initiative in altruistic design, Circles In Structure, and has published 3 books, “Autobiography of an Idea”, “Satisfaction Economy: The path to a post-scarcity world for us all”, and “Cognitive Balance: For a world on the precipice of change”. He brings a wealth of knowledge and human, as well as organizational intelligence.

Meet Dr. Liraz, our accomplished Head of Neuroscience, with a PhD and over 15 years of cumulative experience in brain research. Her remarkable journey includes a National Institutes of Health K-12 Scholar Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Assistant Professor positions, and impactful research publications. Dr. Liraz’s passion for child brain development, fostered by the birth of her daughter, led her to found Little Neurons, LLC, in 2023, with a mission to simplify scientific literature and help children reach their fullest developmental potential. Today, Little Neurons creates blogs, educational videos, and collaborates with local organizations, empowering schools and offering classes to prime young minds for academic and life success. Dr. Liraz is excited to collaborate with EiE’s education reform initiatives, utilizing neuroscience tools to shape a brighter future.
